Elevated Highway of Bangalore

At last the Elevated Hosur Expresssway has been thrown open to the public yesterday to the great relief of the commuting public between Bommanahalli and the Electronic city.Incidentally this is the longest elevated National highway in the country.The elevated road between Silk Board and Electronic city is a 10 KM stretch .This would considerably ease and speed up the 1.5 lakh PCU (Passenger Car unit)traffic in this road . The most satisfying part is , this forms part of the NH7 between Hosur and Bangalore.The entire road stretch was beset with the worst traffic congestion couple of years ago.Even before the expressway is thrown open,widening of the existing road has eased the traffic to a great extent than what it was a couple of years before.Once I had the worst experience of literally crawling at snails pace between electronic city and Bommanahalli .Imagine for a distance of 10 KMs it took an annoying 2.5 hours. Now it is heartening to note the whole distance can be covered in just 15 minutes.Though delayed by an year this project is a welcome relief to Bangalore and its people.
