London Police have identified 10 languages other than English for making Emergency calls.These languages are Tamil French Roman Punjabi Bengali Turkey Spanish Somali Polish and Potugese.It is noteworthy that there are 3 Indian Languaes in this list.London police have made arragements for an instant translation from any of these languages to English. Those making emergency calls can talk in any of these 10 languages.Most importantly it is a round the clock service.Indian states should take a cue from this.India is a country known for its diversity in languages amongst her citizens.Such facilities should be available atleast in Indian metros for other Indian languages.
